Der Diplomat war Generalmajor der srilankischen Armee während der Schlussoffensive im Krieg gegen die tamilischen Rebellen, deren Grausamkeit der hier verlinkte Film von Channel 4 dokumentiert. Am 2. English Version:  Since Sept. 2009 Jagath Dias Sri Lankas Deputy Ambassador in Germany with responsibility also for Swiss and Vatican. The diplomat before was Major General of the Srilankan Army, one of the leading commanders of the final offensive in the war against the Tamil rebels, documented in the Channel 4-film. On May 2nd. German TV-Magazine FAKT published a film on Jagath Dias, with extensive statements of members of German Human Rights- and Development-Organisations and Srilankan eyewittnesses. But the German Government says: the accusations against Dias are not “substantiated”.
